UTM Online Learning Week

Introduction – UTM Online Learning Week

Many of us in UTM are familiar with blended learning environment where our UTM eLearning system compliments professor-led face-to-face teaching. UTM e-Learning has been integral in our learning ecosystem and we are thinking about moving forward with the introduction of 100% online learning in UTM.

What will happen?

Because not many of us experienced full online learning (where there is no physical appointment between professors and students), we are initiating a movement for 100% online learning week that spans from 5 to 10 April 2020.

  • Lecturers

We encourage fellow professors and lecturers to have online meeting (using Skype, Zoom, Facebook Live or e-Learning Big Blu Button) to conduct teaching and learning; no physical face-to-face meeting (refer to UTMLead website for tutorials). Or, you can also have a recorded lecture online and upload them in e-Learning for students to follow.

  • Students

For students, you can experience learning at your own comfort place and be connected with your learning session online. However, lab sessions will not be affected and students will carry on as normal.

These exercises will be held in future semesters to enable the University fine-tune its learning capabilities and procedures; this will enrich the core competencies of staff and students in the use of complementary technology for learning and teaching.

  • Technical requirement
  • A computer/laptop
  • Microphone
  • Earphone/Headphone
  • Stable internet connection
  • Skype/Zoom/Facebook/UTM eLearning account
